2022-2023 Season Recap

There may not be enough words to describe this season, or at least not enough that don’t involve some happy tears! These girls really stepped up their game and continued to propel forward all season long.

Our JV girls held their NWSC JV Champion title by remaining undefeated all season long and winning the championship meet at the end of the season, our Varsity girls held their 3rd place ranking within the conference and pushed their way to 2nd place in our section after finishing last year in 5th. The Varsity girls also held their rank within the top 25 reported teams within the state, all season long.

Throughout the season we heard from parents of other teams about how envious they were of the tight bond our girls have formed with one another, we heard from other athletes how impressed they were with our beam routines, and we even heard from judges as they noticed the climb we’ve made this season and how we are a team to watch. One judge specifically told me how impressed she was with how our routines are put together and the performance the girls give, on more than one occasion. .

To wrap up our season in a nice royal blue bow, for the first time in over a decade your Varsity Queens placed as runner ups in the Section 5AA tournament and sent both Sophie M. & Sadie Z. to state, which marks the first time individuals have gone in at least 5 years!

While we truly believe making it to state is the prize and we had already won walking through those doors, Sophie placed 19th on beam and Sadie placed 23rd on bars and 19th on floor, putting them both in the top half of those that competed at state on their respective events! What an amazing accomplishment and testament to how far hard work, practice, and determination can take you when it comes to crushing your goals!

The numbers and data show us what an amazing team we have but our team goes so much deeper! Community is such a big core value and it shines through in everything these girls do. We had our first ever mini lock in in the gym, we played games and had dance parties at practice, we did spirit days throughout the season, team dinners both before and after meets, we journaled to ourselves and to each other, we created sisterhoods, we worked hard together, had fun together, and dreamed big together.
